Insulated PIR PU Sandwich Roof Panel Manufacturer for Cleanroom & Cold Room

Glostar is a leading Insulated PIR PU Sandwich Panel manufacturer in China, providing high-performance polyurethane insulated wall and roof panels for industrial buildings, cold storage and commercial projects worldwide. Glostar PIR PU sandwich panels feature an exceptionally low thermal conductivity. This is complemented by a sophisticated and well-engineered interlocking mechanism, along with a meticulously designed installation node system, ensuring the airtightness and thermal insulation efficiency of the entire cold storage facility. Experimental results demonstrate that the thermal insulation performance of a 3.5 cm thick polyurethane panel is approximately equivalent to that of a 1-meter thick concrete wall.

Product Overview

PIR (Polyisocyanurate) and PU (Polyurethane) sandwich panels consist of two profiled steel face sheets bonded to a rigid foam core, formed in a continuous double-belt lamination process. The result is a lightweight, structurally self-supporting enclosure panel with industry-leading thermal resistance and a factory-finished surface ready for immediate installation.

PIR core panels offer an enhanced fire class versus standard PU, making them the preferred choice for pharmaceutical GMP facilities, cold-chain logistics, cleanrooms, and any application subject to fire-safety regulations. PU core panels deliver the same thermal efficiency at a more accessible cost point, suitable for general industrial and commercial buildings.

Key Performance Features
1 Thermal Insulation

PIR foam achieves a thermal conductivity λ ≤ 0.022 W/(m·K) — the lowest of any rigid foam insulation material in common construction use. A 100 mm PIR panel delivers the same thermal resistance as 180 mm of mineral wool, significantly reducing the required panel thickness and building footprint.

2 Concealed Screw Connection

Concealed screw fastening, achieved through the use of capping covers, ensures superior waterproofing and enhances the architectural aesthetic;

3High-Wave Design

The high-wave crest design enhances the load-bearing capacity of the panel surface while simultaneously facilitating water drainage; The unique wave-crest profile design provides a reliable connection method for securing photovoltaic panels.

4 Airtightness & Vapour Control

The continuous foam core with sealed tongue-and-groove or ship-lap joints provides inherent air tightness and acts as a vapour retarder, reducing condensation risk within the panel assembly. Critical for cold storage, cleanroom, and controlled-atmosphere environments where moisture control is essential.

5 CFC-Free & HCFC-Free Foam

All panels are produced with cyclopentane-blown or HFO-blown PIR/PU foam. Suitable for projects with environmental certification requirements.

6 Fast Installation

Factory-finished panels with integrated interlocking joints arrive on site ready to fix — no wet trades, no drying time, no on-site insulation application. A two-person team can typically install 200–300 m² of wall panel per day, significantly compressing construction programmes versus traditional build-up systems.

Why Choose Glostar PIR / PU Panels?
  • Continuous double-belt lamination line — factory-controlled adhesion quality across the full panel width; no voids or delamination risk from batch production.
  • Full system supply — panels, matched flashings, corners, sill trims, and fixings supplied as a complete system; no coordination gaps between panel and accessories suppliers.
  • Dual-core capability — manufacture both PIR and PU cores on the same line, allowing mixed-core projects (e.g., PIR for fire-rated zones, PU for general areas) in a single order.
  • Custom length to order — panels cut to your exact required lengths at the factory, minimising on-site waste and reducing installation time.
  • Export packaging & logistics support — panels packed and strapped for sea or road freight; export documentation including material test reports, CE/product certificates available.
  • Technical drawings on request — panel layout drawings, node/junction details, and load-span tables available for your structural engineer's reference.
Frequently Asked Questions
QWhat is the difference between PIR and PU sandwich panels?
PU (polyurethane) and PIR (polyisocyanurate) foams are closely related chemically, but PIR has a higher isocyanate index which produces a more thermally stable, char-forming foam. PIR offers better fire resistance (Class B1 vs B2), a wider operating temperature range, and better dimensional stability — at a modest cost premium. For regulated environments (pharma, food, cold storage) PIR is the industry standard choice.
QWhat thickness should I specify for my climate?
For Middle East and Southeast Asia climates (high ambient temperature, air-conditioning dominant), 75–100 mm PIR is typically sufficient for industrial wall applications. Cold rooms and freezer stores require 150–200 mm. For pharmaceutical or cleanroom projects, the specification is usually determined by the HVAC engineer's heat load calculation — we can provide U-value data for any thickness to support your design.
QAre panels available in custom sizes and colours?
Yes. Panel length is cut to order (up to 12 000 mm). Width is determined by the tooling (1000 mm or 1200 mm standard). Custom RAL colours are available with a minimum order quantity — please enquire with your project specification. For architectural façade applications, PVDF coating with 25-year warranty is available.
QCan PIR/PU panels be used for cleanroom walls and ceilings?
Yes — full-flat face PIR panels with a pre-painted steel or stainless steel inner face are widely used for ISO Class 5–8 cleanroom wall and ceiling construction. The smooth, non-porous surface is easy to clean and disinfect. Anti-static coating is available for semiconductor or electronics cleanrooms. We can also provide coved corner accessories for hygienic cove joints at floor-wall and wall-ceiling transitions.
QWhat documents are available for import and project compliance?
We can provide: factory test reports (thermal conductivity, fire class, compressive strength), material safety data sheets (MSDS), product certificates, packing lists and commercial invoices for customs, and CE Declaration of Performance (DoP) where applicable under EN 14509. For GMP projects, batch traceability records are available on request.
